Kazumi Fukagawa


Kazumi Fukagawa: soprano

Born in Kobe,Japan. Graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts and Music with a degree in Singing Course.Upon returning from studying in Paris,began her music career, mainly in French modern classical songs . Received French Consul General Award at Japan-France Music Contest in 1994,and Kobe Culture Encouragement Prize in 1999. Engaged in collaboration work of Erik SATIE's songs with pantomimists,painters,jazz musicians,tap dancers,and other artists in diverse genre. After experiencing Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995,begun to sing Doyo(Japanese nursery songs),songs by Tohru TAKEMITSU,and work of Chuya NAKAHARA.Later,presides over a group called "DOYO-SALON" which arranged old Japanese nursery songs,and holds concerts in various place in Japan. The second CD "L'Amitie" was released in France and Canada by SARAVAH.
